An extraordinary cigarette case by Cartier New York from around 1920, a true expression of the elegance and refinement of Art Deco. A rare and precious object, intended for the most discerning collectors and lovers of historic fine jewelry. Dimensions: approx. 5.4 x 9.3 cm, 171.50 g. Crafted of yellow gold, platinum, and diamonds, it is embellished with refined enamel details that highlight its exclusive character and extraordinary craftsmanship. Its rectangular shape features "Pekin" stripe motifs in black enamel on a gold background; the short sides are decorated, on all four sides, with a vine leaf design on a turquoise enamel background. The upper part is embellished, near one end, with a circular turquoise enamel element that serves as an opening button (approx. 1.2 cm), bordered by rose-cut diamonds set in platinum. Inside, there is a sliding gold compartment for cigarettes. This cigarette case is accompanied by an IAJA certificate of expertise attesting to its authenticity and origin.
